MECHANICAL INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER

Company, TALLERS SERRA, S.L., a manufacturer of industrial machinery for the corrugated board industry, based in Martorell, is looking to fill the position of INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY ENGINEER. The main responsibility will be designing mechanical machinery for the corrugated board industry, contributing to the continuous improvement of production processes, reducing costs, increasing the quality of industrial production and generating value in terms of efficiency.

The short lead time of the projects—only 6 months from the customer's order to machine delivery—allows for rapid learning.

Functions

Carry out the overall conceptual and mechanical design of machines.

Define the conceptual design of prototypes:

• Collection and documentation of customer requirements
• Definition of possible solutions
• Mechanical definition
• Definition of the electrical and pneumatic operation and communication of requirements to the electrical engineers.
• Safety
• Sustainability
• Carry out the mechanical design of the machine
• Design of parts and assemblies in Solid Edge or Solid Works
• Preparation of drawings for the designed parts or supervision of draftspeople to carry out this task
• Documentation and presentation of the calculations performed
• Project management
• Definition of scope
• Planning
• Definition of risks and contingency plans
• Definition of quality
• Effective communication with stakeholders, especially the customer
• Implement innovative technical solutions to improve quality and efficiency
• Carry out field tests
• Carry out tests with the machines during the conceptual design phase
• Carry out tests with the designed and manufactured machines

Evaluate the performance of industrial systems and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency

Knowledge and skills

• Ability to identify problems and propose effective solutions
• Experience coordinating and supervising work teams
• Effective communication skills to interact with different departments and levels of the organization, as well as with customers

• Ability to analyze data, processes and systems to identify improvements

Requirements

Minimum education: Mechanical Industrial Engineer

Minimum requirements:

• Proficiency in a CAD program (Solid Works or Solid Edge)
• Knowledge of mechanical components and machining processes
• Creativity and proactivity
• At least 5 years of experience in industrial machinery design
• Advanced level of English, Spanish and Catalan.
• Availability for occasional travel

Schedule

1. Full-time working week of 40 hours.

2. Flexible working hours around standard office hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 to 13:30 and 14:15 to 17:00 h.

• Friday: 07:30 to 13:45 h.
