MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN/DESIGNER

Description

TALLERS SERRA, S.L., a manufacturer of industrial machinery for the corrugated cardboard sector, located in Martorell, is in need of a Mechanical Engineering Technician/Designer. The main function will be 3D mechanical design and project management. 

We offer the opportunity to work in a rapidly growing company on a national and international level, where you can participate in various projects that allow you to continue your professional development. The short lead time of projects, only 6 months from customer order to machine delivery, allows for rapid learning.

Functions

• Mechanical definition and possible solutions.
• Compilation and documentation of customer requirements.
• Definition of electrical and pneumatic operation and transmission of requirements to electrical engineers.
• Creation of drawings of designed parts.
• Design of parts and assemblies in Solid Edge or Solid Works and AutoCAD.
• Creation of drawings of designed parts or supervision of draftsmen to carry out this task.
• Definition of project scope and planning.
• Documentation and presentation of calculations performed.
• Testing machines during conceptual design.
• Fluid communication with stakeholders, especially the customer.
• Testing of designed and manufactured machines.
• Development of documentation for manuals for use, installation, and maintenance of machines designed in SERRA with InDesign.
• Definition of risks and contingency plans

• Ability to solve complex design problems.
• Good communication, as they will deal directly with clients.
• Proactive and resourceful person.

Requirements

Minimum Education: VET in Mechanical Manufacturing and Design or higher.

Minimum Requirements: 

• Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works and Solid Edge).
• Knowledge of mechanical elements and machining processes.
• Creativity.
• High level of English proficiency. 
• Availability to travel occasionally. 
• High level of Catalan and Spanish proficiency. 

Desired Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in machinery design.
• Residence near Martorell.
• Immediate availability

Schedule

Full-time employment with 40 hours per week, distributed as follows:

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 to 13:30 and 14:15 to 17:00.
• Friday: 07:30 to 13:45.
